Hong Kong public transport fares and the Government fare subsidy, computed and recorded.

1. An MTR fare between two stations

Every figure on this site is either a fare published by MTR Corporation open data, or arithmetic done on numbers you enter, using the rules printed on the Government own scheme pages. There is no estimate and no model in the loop: the same input always returns the same answer.

2. The Government fare subsidy (PTFSS) for a month

One-third of the month's public transport expenses above a $500 threshold, capped at $400 per month for each Octopus account and each AlipayHK account. The two accounts are never combined — that sentence is on the Government's own page, not an interpretation.

3. Record what you actually paid

Log each trip and get a monthly total, a breakdown, a subsidy estimate and a CSV. A trip is recorded as you entered it, so the arithmetic can be checked line by line.
